Womenĺs Resource Center hosts discussion on feminism

Loyola University New Orleans’ Women’s Resource Center welcomes Jennifer Disney, Ph.D., to present “A Time for Change: Feminism, Activism, and Revolution in Mozambique and Nicaragua,” on Thursday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. The lecture takes place in Monroe Hall, Room 157, on Loyola’s main campus. It is free and open to the public.

Disney, who authored a book on the same topic as the lecture, is an associate professor of political science at Winthrop University and the winner of the American Political Science Association Women and Politics Best Dissertation Award in 2003.

She specializes in comparative politics and political theory, specifically in the areas of development and underdevelopment, third world feminism and global women's movements.

Disney’s lecture is sponsored by the Women's Resource Center and the National Lawyer's Guild.
