Loyola Band dedicates upcoming concert to the generous donor

April 9, 2010

The Loyola Wind Ensemble and Concert Band, directed by Dr. Joseph Hebert, will perform a concert featuring wind band standards and favorites dedicated to the J. Edgar Monroe Foundation for its generous support through scholarships of music students from Costa Rica.

The free concert takes place on Saturday, April 17, at 3 p.m., in Roussel Performance Hall, located in the Communications/Music Complex on Loyola’s main campus.

The concert will begin with Costa Rica’s National Anthem and will be followed by the Star Spangled Banner.

Since its establishment in 1995, the Monroe Foundation has given more than $1.6 million in support of this international student program at Loyola. Loyola has just received the final payment from the foundation in support of its commitment and will graduate the remaining Costa Rican students this spring.
