Loyola Montage Series to participate in third annual Culture Collision

September 2, 2011

The Loyola University New Orleans Montage Fine and Performing Arts Series will join 50 of the area’s premier arts organizations on Sept. 7, at 5:30 p.m. for the third annual Culture Collision. The one-night-only event, held at the New Orleans Museum of Art, is a celebration to kick off the 2011-12 cultural season.

Culture Collision brings together New Orleans’ visual and performing arts organizations for a unique happy hour designed to encourage participation and involvement in the New Orleans art scene. Admission to the event is free and attendees will have the opportunity to scope out upcoming events, take advantage of exclusive ticket promotions, and meet like-minded arts lovers. Giveaways courtesy of participating organizations will be ongoing throughout the evening.

Representatives from the Montage Series will have an information booth to distribute information about the 2011-12 season and answer questions about upcoming performances. As a prize for the free raffle, Montage will offer four pairs of tickets to upcoming events: Celebrating Cannonball and Coltrane, featuring Kharl Allen Lee and Tony Degradi on Sept. 29, “Godspell” on Nov. 11, Loyola Ballet Fall Concert on Nov. 18, and “The Grand Duchess of Gerolstein” on Jan. 27.

Complimentary appetizers will be provided by local area restaurants, and several cash bars will be available throughout the museum. The after-party, which will allow for additional networking opportunities in the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden, will feature DJ Matty, free desserts, and an open bar sponsored by AllWays Lounge and Theatre.

The event is sponsored by WWNO and organized by the Arts Council of New Orleans, Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, New Orleans Ballet Association, New Orleans Museum of Art, New Orleans Opera Association, Ogden Museum of Southern Art and Southern Rep.
