November 11, 2011

Davida Finger, assistant clinical professor in the Stuart H. Smith Law Clinic and Center for Social Justice, was the keynote speaker at the Northwest Clinical Conference on Oct. 15 in Canon Beach, Ore. Her talk was titled “Justice and the Role of Law Clinics.” She also presented “International Law in Domestic Advocacy” on a panel at the conference.

Finger also taught a class on human rights advocacy for a clinical seminar course at Harvard Law School in October, and gave a presentation for the Harvard Law school community called “Accountability in New Orleans Six Years After Hurricane Katrina: Community Lawyering and Community Organizing For Justice.” Both presentations were given with Norris Henderson, executive director of Voice of the Ex-Offender in New Orleans.
