May 10, 2013

Five students from Loyola University New Orleans’ Department of Art and Design will join a selective group of New Orleans-area undergraduate and graduate artists to display their works at a juried art exhibition in the St. Claude art district. The opening reception is set for Saturday, May 11 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the University of New Orleans-St. Claude Gallery, located at 2429 St. Claude Avenue in New Orleans.

Loyola students exhibiting works are juniors Ricki Bratcher, Kayla Stark and Julia Taylor; and seniors Jenna Knoblach and Maxwell A. Pluenneke.

Juror Miranda Lash, curator of modern and contemporary art at the New Orleans Museum of Art, chose 29 artworks from 59 entrants for the exhibit. Students from Dillard University, Tulane University and the University of New Orleans will also be represented. Hosted by the University of New Orleans Visual Arts League, the show is comprised of a variety of media, including print, photo, video, painting and sculpture. The show runs May 11 through June 1.
