Law clinic professor joins Jesuit leaders in Spain

November 22, 2013

Hiroko Kusuda, J.D., associate clinic professor of immigration law in the Stuart H. Smith Law Clinic and Center for Social Justice at Loyola University New Orleans’ College of Law, recently participated in the Global Ignatian Advocacy Network conference, held earlier this month in Alcalá de Henares, Spain.

The network brings together leaders and stakeholders from across the globe to share ideas on issues facing the needy, including migration, ecology, governance of natural and mineral resources, the right to education, peace and human rights.

During her presentation, Kusuda discussed U.S. immigration detention issues. She was joined by representatives from Jesuit Refugee Services from Asia Pacific, the European Union, Portugal, Spain, Germany and the Dominican Republic.
